At Hutt Valley High School we work to identify and extend our Gifted and Talented students. Not all Gifted and Talented students excel in the same way. Some are academically gifted, while others are culturally or emotionally gifted, some have talent in languages or sport – there are endless possibilities.
We strive to personalise learning opportunities, providing interesting and challenging learning to extend students. We use a combination of enrichment and acceleration – differentiated teaching and learning in lessons, plus extra outside the classroom activities.
Gifted and talented students are encouraged to take part in a wide range of enrichment activities organised by the different Learning Areas.
