The Hutt Valley High School branc hof the Post Primary Teachers’ Association has requested a meeting under the provisions of the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement 2007-2010, which provides for up to two paid union meetings per year (clause 10.4.1).
The purpose of the meeting is to allow regional PPTA members to discuss and vote on the Ministry of Education’s response to the union’s claim for the renewal of the 2010 Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement.
The Chair of the Board of Trustees has given permission for an early closure of the school at the end of Spell 3, at 12.30 pm on Tuesday 24 August for the purpose of the meeting. Students will be allowed to leave the school premises. Provision will be made for those students who wish to remain at school to receive instruction from non-union staff members.
