Leonie Germany

My name is Leonie Oehmig and I live in NZ for one year. I come from Germany,   near Berlin. In Germany I went to Seeschule Rangsdorf. In NZ I’m going to Hutt Valley High School.  I love to dance.  I like to do things with kids and my host mum works as a nanny so there are kids around me all the time.  I also like pets and I’m happy that there is a cat in my host family.

I’ve been here since July, so it’s a bit more than 4 month.  I live in a Host family in Alicetown. I have a little host sister and a host mother and the cat is named Mittens. I’m really glad that I have such a nice Host Family.

We often do something on the Weekends. I don’t live far from the school so I can walk there and back. I like Hutt Valley High School. It’s close to the mall and to the gym I go to.

The landscape around the school is also really nice. There are hills everywhere and a river.

At school the teachers and international coordinators like Mrs House are really helpful whenever I need some help or information. They are kind and always have smiles on their faces.

You have a lot of subjects you can choose from. My favourite one is Food Education, especially because we don’t have that subject in Germany. If I need help in any subjects I can always ask the teachers and they will surely help me.

In Germany I joined a Dancing Club. Here in NZ I have Dancing as a subject. Next Year I will try some more new subjects that we don’t have in Germany. I’m interested in Outdoor Education and Fashion, especially because we were on OPC last week which is like an Outdoor Camp. I really liked it! We were caving, walking, climbing and canoeing.

Mein Name ist Leonie Oehmig und ich lebe fuer ein Jahr in Neuseeland.  Ich komme aus Deutschland, aus der Naehe von Berlin. In Deutschland bin ich auf die Seeschule Rangsdorf gegangen und hier besuche ich die Hutt Valley High School. Ich mag Tanzen. Ich mag auch Kinder sehr gerne und meine Gastmutter arbeitet als Nanny, also sind immer Kinder um mich herum.  Ich mag Tiere sehr gerne und bin froh, dass ich eine Katze in meiner Gastfamilie habe.

Ich bin hier seit Juli, also ein bisschen laenger als vier Monate. Ich lebe in einer Gastfamilie in Alicetown. Ich habe eine kleine Gastschwester und eine Gastmutter und eine Katze namens Mittens. Ich bin wirklich froh, dass ich in so einer guten Gastfamilie lebe.

Wir machen oft etwas am Wochenende. Ich wohne nicht weit weg von der Schule, also kann ich hin und zurueck laufen. Ich mag Hutt Valley High School. Die Schule ist nicht weit von der Mall und auch nicht von dem Fitnesstudio, welches ich besuche.

Die Landschaft um die Schule ist auch sehr schoen. Ueberall sind Berge und es gibt auch einen Fluss.

Die Leher der Schule und die International Koordinatoren wie z.B Mrs House sind sehr hilfsbereit, wenn immer ich Hilfe oder Informationen brauche. Sie sind immer freundlich und haben ein Laecheln im Gesicht.

Hier gibt es eine Menge Faecher aus denen man waehlen kann. Mein  Lieblingsfach ist Food, ganz besonders weil wir dieses Fach nicht in Deutschland haben. Wenn ich in irgendeinem der Faecher Hilfe brauche, dann kann ich die Lehrer fragen und die koennen mir sicher helfen.

In Deutschland war ich in einem Tanzclub und hier habe ich Tanzen als Unterrichtsfach. Naechstes Jahr werde ich wahrschinlich noch viele weitere Faecher austesten, die wir in Deutschland nicht haben. Ich interessiere mich fuer das Fach Outdoor Education und Fashion. Besonders weil ich letzte Woche auf einem Outdoor Camp war, was mir wirklich viel Spass gemacht hat. Wir waren wander, Campen, Caving, Klettern und Kanu fahren.
