Hutt Valley High School is a large co-ed secondary school situated in the heart of Hutt City offering a wide range of teaching and learning opportunities for our students. The school operates a one-stop-shop for school and sports uniforms, textbooks, limited stationery and all student payments called the Resource Centre (RC).
We are looking to appoint a fixed-term (2018) assistant to a mix of hours and days (term-time only).
You'll be someone who has excellent customer service, thrive in a busy retail environment, a flair for systems, enjoys solving problems, being part of a team, is patient, kind, likes detail and skilled at explaining things clearly
Our ideal candidate is;
Someone with experience working with young people and their family/whānau in a secondary school setting
Competent user of KAMAR, Access-it, MYOB and Xero which are the school’s management software systems
A fast learner, familiar and comfortable with technology
An excellent communicator - both verbal and written
Full of initiative and ability to self-manage and at the same time flexible to respond to what’s happening for the team
A problem solver who takes pride in resolving tricky queries
Good humoured, curious and upbeat
Experience in the clothing industry and a fitting room retail environment would be an advantage.
